Folks can’t get enough of the crazy sports wives, can they? Yesterday’s post collapsed our servers, but also gave us an entirely new round of wacky ladies whom we’d either forgotten about or didn’t know. So, with a tip of our hat to our readers and commenters, the next round of crazy sports wives. Sort these in among the top 10 as you see fit:
-Deidra Lane shot and killed her husband, the Panthers’ Fred Lane. That probably moves right to the top of the list. (Thanks to Audhumla.)
-Along the same lines, skier Spider Sabich was also shot and killed by a woman, Claudine Longet, though she insists it was an accident. She claimed he was showing her how it worked, though he would have had an inte
resting teaching style; the autopsy indicated he had just gotten out of the shower and was bent over with his back to her, more than six feet away, from her when he was shot. (Thanks to Ryan.)
-Former Bull Craig Hodges’ wife Carlita went Left-Eye one better when she allegedly doused Hodges with gasoline and tried to set him on fire. (Thanks to Joe.)
-Kendra Davis (right), wife of the NBA’s Antonio Davis, got into a fight with a fan; her husband charged into the stands, but it might possibly have been to keep the poor fan alive, as Ms. Davis has a bit of a history of violence. (Thanks to readers Brent and JD.)
-Chris Pronger’s wife Lauren pissed off an entire province when she ordered her husband to march right into the Oilers’ offices and get himself traded out of Edmonton NOW, mister. (Brent again.)
-Robin Givens rope-a-doped Mike Tyson into admitting he hit her — no explanation of how her skull was still attached to her body, though — and then divorced him weeks later. (As with some others, there may be extenuating circumstances.) (Thanks to Frank White.)
-Michael Strahan’s wife Jean (at right) alleged he was gay, sold his stuff at a yard sale, and still stuck him for $15 million in divorce proceedings. (Thanks to Mike Southern.)
-Colts cornerback Nick Harper’s wife accidentally stabbed him with a filet knife during an argument. Side note: Harper was the guy who picked up the fumble in the 2006 playoff game against the Steelers and almost ran it back for a touchdown before being caught by Ben Roethlisberger. Coincidence? Hmm. (Thanks to…Nick. Really.)
-The Serious Tip pointed us in the direction of Cecil Fielder’s wife, who reportedly attacked him during divorce proceedings with all manner of domestic weaponry. Of course, Cecil had a few secrets of his own, which could have contributed to that particular dispute.
We’ll let you troll the comments on the first post for the unprovable allegations — and there are plenty — of infidelity, teammate-banging, and just plain craziness.

A sidenote/update to the Chris Pronger saga. Rumours are that the true reason that Lauren Pronger was demanding a trade for her husband centered around the baby sitter that Chris was allegedly teaching the finer points of the power play point shot.

You forgot about Dennis Rodman’s ex-wife driving him crazy by not letting him see his daughter for over a decade over a custody dispute(which led to him to crying on the “up-close” show with Roy Firestone),sleeping with some of the bad boy Pistons,and attacking him with a book titled: “Worse than he say’s he is”,after he came out with his book called,”bad as i wanna be”…

Jason Kidd’s wife joumana,got hime traded after he hit her in Phoenix…In which Suns owner Jerry Coangelo uttered,”We traded his wife”….Then in New Jersey she beat him up as well as exhibit numerous other bad acts on him….
